Counselling is about sharing your thoughts and feelings in a safe, supportive and confidential setting.

Many clients who are new to counselling think (and hope) that the counsellor will give them the answers to sort their problems out for them. Unfortunately, I can't (and wouldn't want to) tell you what to do or how to live your life. Instead, I will work with you to help you to explore your experiences, feelings, beliefs, challenges and behaviour so you can become more self-aware and make changes to live more intentionally.

I am trained to work in an integrative approach to therapy, specifically through person-centred and psychodynamic lenses.

As someone who was enjoyed (and occasionally endured) many hours of therapy as a client, I have experienced the positive impact it can have and that fuels my practice today.

I see counselling as a process that supports, facilitates and empowers self awareness as a path to personal well-being.

My passion and priority in our work is to help you find positive change, in whatever form that takes for you. I work in a way that is tailored specifically to you so it's important that you feel completely safe and supported in our sessions.

I offer a confidential and judgement-free space where you can be yourself without criticism or rejection, in the hope of helping you to feel able to identify, express and explore what’s important to you.

PERSON-CENTRED THEORY

Person-centred counselling is founded on the belief that, given the right conditions, any person can reach their full potential.

Our sessions would led by you, not by me. You’re in the driving seat of what we work on and at what speed; I’m in the seat next to you helping you navigate the obstacles.

PSYCHODYNAMIC THEORY

Psychodynamic therapy is derived from psychoanalysis and the theories of Freud.

It's designed to help you understand how your current feelings, behaviours and views are shaped by your early life and past experiences as well as your unconscious impulses.
